Thanks to RBI’s partnership with KASA (Kemp Area Sports Association) , we’re able to make this opportunity available for your teams in a way that keeps it affordable and competitive.
As RBI continues to grow, we want to reward the teams who help spread the word about what we’re building. Starting now, we’re launching the RBI Coach Referral Program. If you refer a new team to play in an RBI tournament, your team will receive a $100 credit on your account that can be used toward a future tournament registration.
How it works:
• Refer a new team that has never played an RBI event
• When that team completes their first RBI tournament, your team will receive a $100 credit on your account
• Bring in two new teams = $200 credit
• Credits can be used toward future RBI tournament registrationsImportant:
When the new team registers, at checkout in the cart there is a spot for “Referral Name” and “Referral Email Address.”
Have the new team enter your information there so we can track the referral.
We will apply the credit after the new team completes their first RBI tournament. Each new team referral earns one $100 credit. This is our way of saying thank you for helping grow the RBI family of teams. Word of mouth from coaches has been the biggest reason RBI has grown so quickly, and we appreciate you helping us continue to build great, competitive events for rec and select programs.

Why the Current Rec Baseball Model is Hurting High School Baseball
In many small towns, rec baseball has always been the heart of the game. It’s where kids first learn the game, where friendships are built, and where the foundation for future high school teams begins.
But over the past several years, a growing trend in youth rec leagues is quietly damaging that pipeline.
Many leagues now require a full draft every season, dismantling teams that just spent months learning how to play together. Coaches who worked hard to develop a group of kids watch their teams get broken apart. Players who finally built chemistry with their teammates suddenly find themselves starting over with a completely new roster.
And it happens every single season.
Baseball is not a sport where chemistry happens overnight. It takes time for players to learn each other’s strengths, for pitchers and catchers to build trust, for infielders to communicate, and for teams to develop a real identity.
When teams are forced to restart year after year, that development process never truly happens.
The result?
• Players never develop real team chemistry
• Coaches lose the ability to build and teach long-term
• Kids get frustrated constantly starting over
• The level of play suffers
• High school programs receive players who have never truly grown together as a team
Not that long ago, youth baseball was much simpler. Your team was either rec or select. That was it.
There weren’t all the different levels we see today — AA, AAA, Major, and everything in between. The lines were clear, and the system worked.
Rec baseball built teams and communities.
Select baseball gave elite players another level of competition.
But today, the focus has shifted too far away from the foundation that actually builds strong high school programs.
Select baseball can be great for individual player development — it exposes players to higher competition and helps some players refine their skills. But select baseball by itself does not build strong high school programs.
High school programs are built through rec baseball.
They are built by groups of kids who grow up playing together for years. Kids who learn the game together, compete together, and form real bonds on the field. By the time they reach high school, they already understand how to play as a team.
That’s the model that built strong small-town baseball programs for decades.
Since starting RBI – Rec Baseball Innovations, we’ve talked with a large number of rec coaches, and one thing we hear over and over is frustration with the limitations that league rec ball often puts on their teams.
Coaches want to build teams.
They want to develop players together.
They want kids to grow with the same teammates.
But league rules — especially mandatory drafts every season — often force those teams to be torn apart just as they begin to develop.
At RBI, we believe it’s time to get back to a model that actually supports team development.
Our tournaments allow rec teams to stay together and continue growing as a group, instead of being dismantled every season.
And as those rec teams improve and develop, we provide a natural path for them to move up.
With our Open Rec tournaments and our new Open Select tournaments, teams can progress at their own pace. Rec teams can grow and compete together, and when they’re ready for stronger competition, they have a place to step up and play higher-level select baseball.
This model keeps the heart of the game where it belongs — in rec baseball — while still giving teams opportunities to grow.
If we want stronger high school baseball in our communities again, we have to start by fixing the foundation.
That foundation has always been rec baseball, teams staying together, and kids growing up playing the game side by side.
That’s the model we believe in.
And that’s the model we’re working to rebuild. ⚾
At RBI, our goal is to make playing tournament baseball simple, affordable, and stress-free for coaches and families.
If you ever need help, we’re here for you. Our team can assist with:
We work hard to make the experience as simple and seamless as possible so you can focus on what matters most — playing baseball.

✔ Create a great experience for players, coaches, and parents
At RBI, we focus on great baseball, great competition, and a great atmosphere — without the extra fees.
Game Count & Guarantee
Round Robin (4 Teams)
Every team plays 3 full pool games.
The top 2 play a 4th game for the championship.
No one goes home early — every team gets a solid day of baseball.
Pool + Bracket
Teams often play 2 pool games, then bracket play decides the rest.
Half the teams may be eliminated after just 2 games.
Competitive Balance
Round Robin
Each team faces every other team, so standings are based on a true comparison.
Reduces bad luck of uneven pool draws, like facing two very strong or very weak teams.
Pool + Bracket
Teams may advance or get knocked out based on pool assignment luck.
A strong team could get eliminated after one tough pool loss and a bad draw.
Scheduling & Flow
Round Robin
Predictable — each team knows they will play 3 guaranteed games before finals.
Easier for coaches and families to plan travel, meals, and pitching rotation.
Pool + Bracket
Teams may sit around waiting on bracket games, or end up eliminated early.
Families sometimes travel far and play just two games.
Experience for Players & Coaches
Round Robin
More consistent reps for pitchers, hitters, and catchers.
Great for developing younger teams since everyone gets maximum field time.
Coaches get more chances to evaluate and adjust lineups.
Pool + Bracket
High-pressure bracket play is exciting, but can cut short development time.
Saving Pitchers’ Arms
Round Robin
With guaranteed games and no surprise early eliminations, coaches can plan pitching more effectively.
Arms are used evenly across games instead of being burned in short, high-pressure brackets.
Helps reduce overuse and keeps kids healthier throughout the season.
Pool + Bracket
Bracket play can force coaches to overuse pitchers in back-to-back elimination games.
Teams sometimes run out of arms late in the day or weekend, increasing injury risk.
Bottom Line
A 4-team round robin plus championship maximizes playtime, creates a fairer competitive format, and ensures every team gets their money’s worth. It is especially attractive for one-day tournaments where families want guaranteed action without the risk of being eliminated too soon.

We are a new tournament organization built to cater to the "rec ball" families. We are based in Kemp for fall, and we are looking to expand into other communities. We are not in direct competition with the other tournament organizations. We consider RBI to be complementary to these other organizations. As we will graduate teams up through our system and into the true "select/travel" level.

At RBI, we believe strong high school programs are built through rec baseball. By keeping teams together, players develop chemistry, coaches build long-term, and kids grow with their teammates. We’re committed to restoring that foundation—providing affordable, competitive tournaments where real teams can develop, compete, and advance together.

RBI is committed to expanding opportunities for recreational baseball players while elevating the excitement and quality of every event. Our future plans include:
Collector Ring Series Spring and Summer 2026
A special lineup of tournaments where teams can earn exclusive, limited-edition championship rings. New collectible designs will be released throughout the year, creating a exciting series that players won’t want to miss.
RBI Summer Nationals June 2026 (Midlothian)
A major regional event bringing together rec and rec-select teams to compete for a national-style championship experience — top facilities, high-energy atmosphere, and competitive baseball.
RBI Rec World Series — July 2026 (Waxahachie Sports Complex)
This milestone event will deliver a true World Series environment for rec athletes: big crowds, custom gear, and unforgettable moments.
Geographic Expansion
RBI is growing! We will be expanding into more communities across North Texas — including Cleburne, Duncanville, DeSoto, and McKinney — to bring the RBI experience closer to more families and players.

Our team at RBI consists of knowledgeable and experienced baseball players and coaches who are enthusiastic about the game. Over 30 years in the game at all levels from rec league baseball to elevated level select/travel.
